Living in Beeton

The Town of New Tecumseth blends rural living with urban services. It encompasses three larger communities such as Alliston, Beeton, and Tottenham. Beeton offers a strong sense of community with more of a rural vibe, large open spaces, and a quaint downtown core. Single-family homes with large lots make up most of the housing styles here, with some townhomes and condominiums mixed in.

There are two elementary schools that are local to Beeton, Tecumseth Beeton Elementary School, and Monsignor J.E Ronan Catholic School. Students in high school are bussed to the nearby community of Alliston and will attend either Banting Memorial High School or Holy Family Catholic School.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Trans Canada Trail stretches 26 kilometers and is perfect for walking, biking, or cross-country skiing in the winter. The Honey Trail which was designed to celebrate beekeeping, bees, honey, and other hive products can also be found in Beeton and is a great trail to bring kids for a learning experience. As you walk along Honey Trail you will find unique businesses throughout Simcoe County that offer local products, and knowledge that will create a memorable experience.

Parks and recreation activities are not limited to Beeton. The Beeton Community Park and Pitel Park both have playgrounds for the community to enjoy. Residents can get involved in organized and recreational ball hockey leagues during the spring and summer months, and hockey during the winter. Outside the Beeton Memorial Arena, you will find a community splash pad that’s very popular amongst kids during the summer.

As mentioned earlier Beeton provides a strong sense of community and you will see that conveyed throughout their events. The Beeton Honey and Garden Festival happens annually along main street. This festival celebrates all things bees and honey and features over 190 vendors, food selections, and entertainment as well as a classic car and trunk show. Another popular annual festival is the Beeton Fall Fair which provides a great weekend of family fun. There are plenty of kid’s activities and rides as well as exhibits, demonstrations, and competitions.

If you’re interested in doing some local shopping, there’s no better place to do this than downtown Beeton. There are a variety of unique local shops that sell everything from clothing to accessories, goods, and services. Mr. Gigi’s pizza is a popular place for pizza in Beeton that can be found on main street. Bibby’s Corner is another great family-friendly spot, that has a delicious breakfast and lunch menu.

Beeton may be small, but it provides that sense of community everyone is looking for with important urban amenities just minutes away.
