Living in the quaint Town of Bradford West-Gwillumbury allows for entertainment, fine dining, and access to communities in the surrounding area that have plenty to offer without the frantic city lifestyle. Located just 50 minutes from the GTA, Bradford is easily accessible via the highway 400.

Bradford-West Gwillumbury is made up of a few different neighborhoods, such as Pinkerton, Bond Head, and Green Valley. As you drive through Pinkerton you will see tree-lined streets with more modern single-family homes and townhomes. This is an up-and-coming area for residential and commercial development because of its convenient location to the city for commuters and its slower pace lifestyle.

For those who rely on public transportation, the town of Bradford has two different bus routes which travel around town and crosstown. If you need to travel to the city, Bradford has their own GO Transit terminal. The town has recently set up a Shuttle-to-GO service which is a shared service between the Bradford West Gwillumbury transit bus stops and Bradford GO. This car service will pick you up and bring you to the nearest bus stop or vice versa to get you where you need to be.

There are a few schools local to the Pinkerton neighborhood like elementary schools Sir William Oster Public School and Fred C. Cook Public School. There is one public high school in Bradford located in the center of town being the Bradford District High School. For those looking for a catholic school option, there are a few options throughout the town, such as St. Angela Merici Catholic School and Holy Trinity Catholic High School.

The Pinkerton neighborhood has many parks for kids and families to enjoy. The Joe Magani Park has a playground, baseball diamond, and soccer field for sports enthusiasts. Henderson Memorial Park is a popular spot all year round but especially during the summer as there’s a splash pad here. There’s also a basketball and tennis court, a baseball diamond, soccer field as well as a playground.

Recreation activities are not limited to Bradford. If you enjoy walking, there are many trails in and around the Pinkerton neighborhood and Town of Bradford. The Hodgson Tract is a 2.9-kilometer loop through dense forest. This trail is kept by Simcoe County Forest and can be used during the winter for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

 The BWG Leisure Centre has two arenas that are used for organized minor hockey leagues and skating lessons. There’s also an aquatic center where the town hosts a variety of swimming programs for kids and aquatic fitness classes for adults and seniors as well as a fitness center and three gymnasiums.

You can find a variety of amenities and retail shopping on Bradford’s main street, Holland Street West. There’s a Walmart Supercentre and Shopper’s Drug Mart that will satisfy your grocery needs, as well as some retail shopping options, gas stations, and coffee shops. If you’re looking for a great place to dine, the Brick n Fire Italian restaurant is a newer establishment in the area and has quickly become a town favorite. This local family-owned restaurant serves a variety of traditional Italian dishes and wood-fired pizzas. La Mexicanada is another great locally owned restaurant on Holland Street that serves many delicious traditional Mexican food dishes.

The Town of Bradford is an up-and-coming area that has the potential for an abundance of business development because of its convenient location.
