Blue Mountain Village and Resort is the perfect getaway or cottage location for those who love the outdoors and relaxed lifestyle. The resort provides plenty of entertainment, outdoor activities, events, and festivals, as well as dining options and retail shopping making it easy to live as there’s something here for everyone. Other necessities like groceries and gas are just a 10-minute drive away to Collingwood. In terms of real estate inside Blue Mountain Village, there is a select amount of small condo residences and chalets to purchase or rent but most are for visitor use. Outside of the resort, you can find a variety of large single-family homes with large lots showcasing modern architectural styles.
As you drive through the town you will see acres of farmer’s fields and undeveloped land. The area is a very quiet and tranquil setting, perfect for those looking for a relaxing getaway away from the hustle of the city, retire, or enjoy a balanced work and play lifestyle.
The Westin Trillium House at Blue Mountain Village and Resort was recently renovated to showcase a more modern style of living. This residence provides a beautiful view overlooking the whole village and is perfect for a cottage location or staycation.
Blue Mountain Village is well known by residents and visitors alike for its outdoor recreation activities like hiking, swimming, or golfing in the summer and skiing or snowboarding in the winter. There’s a great mixture of local and small chain restaurants here as well. Kaytoo Restaurant and Bar is a casual dining restaurant and pub that turns into a small nightclub after 11. It’s a great spot for the younger crowd who enjoy a night of dancing and socializing.
Oliver and Bonacini Café and Grill is another casual restaurant located inside the Westin Trillium Residence that provides a beautiful view of the lake and village while you enjoy your dinner. If you’re looking for a snack or appetizer, we highly recommend their spinach and artichoke dip. For dinner, the shrimp linguine or burger are both great choices if you love a tasteful dish.
As you walk around the village you will find a few quaint local artisan stores that sell a variety of handcrafted jewelry, gifts, art, and retail items. Some other things you will find within the village are coffee shops, dessert bars, a convenience store, and other small item amenities.
If you’d like to explore the area and enjoy a great day with family or friends beyond the village, we highly recommend visiting the Roost Winery. Roost Winery is located just a 20-minute drive away from Blue Mountain Village located at the top of one of the mountains showcasing a panoramic view of the Niagara Escarpment. You can organize a tasting of four wines with an individual charcuterie platter or a blind tasting of six wines with a charcuterie platter. The difference between the two tastings is that one you get to pick the four wines you would like to taste whereas in the guided tasting you are tasting the wines selected by your guide. The guided tasting is a fun interaction with your guide and the company you’re with as you get to discuss the wines you are tasting. After you finish your tasting, you can enjoy a glass of wine and walk around the property to their vineyards or take a seat under their gazebo which overlooks the mountain.
The Scandinave Spa is another great excursion where you can really relax and enjoy the landscape the Blue Mountains provide. Their Scandinavian baths are inspired by the Finnish tradition of hydrotherapy where you follow a hot to cold cycle to relax your body. This is a very popular activity all year round and book a month in advance, so if you’re planning a trip to the area, make sure you plan in advance. Another unique addition to their spa is the Forest Bathing Trail. This is a one-kilometer trail that leads you through a series of posts while inhaling essential oils from the surrounding forest. This tranquil setting is perfect to take a day for yourself to just relax and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you.
After visiting the Town of Blue Mountains and Blue Mountain Village you will want to come back for more. The relaxed lifestyle is enjoyable and it’s an exclusive experience and way of living that you won’t find anywhere else.
