Four Seasons of Recreation & Tourism.

The Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains is technically not a part of Simcoe County but due to its proximity and accessibility to Collingwood it may as well be. This area is home to some of the highest tourist traffic in the region. Whether it is mountain biking and tree top trekking in the summer or skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, this area is a dream for every season. Seasonal homes, Airbnb’s and full-time residences can be found all around the village.

Living Here

Living in The Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains takes its name from exactly that, the Ski Resort named Blue Mountain. Being the highlight of the area, this resort offers year-round activity for all ages. The heart of the village is a place for all occasions featuring dining, recreation, conference facilities and a short drive to the lake. As development constantly occurs in this area there are several brand-new subdivisions mixed among the much older cabin-like properties. Home to many luxurious and up-scale suburbs, Blue Mountain is a growing place for holiday retreats and summer homes for those who enjoy golf and the waterfront as well.

In 1941, Blue Mountain had its first ski lift put into place. It was initially built by hand and powered by an old truck motor; this lift would only access the three trails at the time.
