The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is a predominantly rural area made of several small communities and hamlets. With a permanent population of almost 11 thousand residents, the township has a strong economic future due to its location. Everett is a small community within the township that’s filled with rolling hills and farmer’s fields. Single-family homes with large lots is the only housing style you’ll find here making it the perfect location for those looking for privacy and larger-sized property to grow into.
The area is rich in natural beauty making it a great location for walking and hiking. The trail at Warden’s Park is great for walking or jogging and is also wheelchair accessible. Take in this peaceful setting as you walk along acres of farmer’s fields and through some forested areas.
Greenspace and parks are not limited in this area for kids. Pine Park is an 18-acre park providing plenty of green space for kids and adults to enjoy. Invite some friends or family out for a friendly game of soccer, football, or frisbee, and take advantage of the space to have a picnic and relax. Just down the street, you’ll find John O. Irwin Ball Diamond located at Veteran’s Park. There’s a baseball diamond and playground here for kids to enjoy.
For those who enjoy hiking the Earl Rowe Provincial Park is within a 20-minute drive of Everett. There’s a variety of hiking and walking trails here of all levels of difficulty and length. The most popular trail, the “lookout trail” provides a beautiful panoramic view of Adjala-Tosorontio township and New Tecumseth.
If you’re looking for something fun to do, the Nicolston Dam in nearby Essa township is a conservation area that provides access to a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Canoeing and kayaking on the Nottawasaga River are popular activities here. The river features a series of small rapids, so it is recommended for more experienced canoers or kayakers, and they’re also available to rent.
The township serves more of a rural purpose so shopping or dining out must be done out of town in nearby townships of New Tecumseth or Essa. If you’re looking for a great place to dine out, downtown Alliston is the place to go. There are a variety of different local restaurants like Da Grazia and Flavor Kitchen that offer delicious dishes made from locally sourced and fresh ingredients.
Everett is perfect for those looking to exchange the busy lifestyle for relaxation and quiet. Live amongst the rolling hills on a large property with a tranquil backdrop.
