Source Township of Adjala-Tosorontio

Housing styles are limited here to single family homes showcasing older architectural building styles and large backyards making is a great option for a growing family.

Loretto is one the smaller hamlets which makes up Adjala-Tosorontio township. There is one school local to Loretto, the Adjala Central Public School. Since there are no high schools within the township high school students are bussed to either nearby towns of New Tecumseth or Essa.

If you’re looking for a park to pass some time away with the kids, Haley Park and Weca Park are both situated within Loretto. Here you’ll find well-kept playgrounds and plenty of greenspace for play. If you enjoy walking and exploring nature, the Tottenham Conservation Area in the nearby Township of New Tecumseth has nice walking trail within that’s suitable for all, showcasing wetlands and woodlands. Some other recreation activities to do here are fishing and swimming, or you can have a game of disc golf at their 18-hole golf course.

Since the Adjala-Tosorontio township is small in comparison to other townships, it’s not sustainable to  have their own recreation programming, so residents are able to register for programs in bordering townships of Essa and New Tecumseth. These programs include swimming, public skating, fitness classes, and co-ed recreational sport leagues. The townships of Essa and New Tecumseth also offer a variety of recreational sports leagues in hockey, soccer, tennis, swimming, and more which residents of Adjala-Tosorontio can also join.

Grocery shopping within Loretto and Adjala-Tosorontio township is limited. Lisle Food Mart carries smaller grocery items, but all other grocery shopping and amenities will need to be done in bordering towns. If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy a night out with friends or family, Alliston’s downtown core has a vibrant local restaurant and entertainment scene, and there’s sure to be something here for everyone.

If you’re looking to live the rural life, or a great place to find a seasonal property Loretto is a great place to search. You can escape the hustle and bustle of larger cities and towns, but still have access to amenities and entertainment just a short distance away.
