Living in the Barrie East Neighborhood

The Barrie East neighborhood is well established with larger homes and lots, mixed with smaller and more modern low rise and high-rise apartments. Parks, walking trails, and beaches are not limited to the East neighborhoods. Eastview Park and Hickling Park both have a playground and soccer field for kids to enjoy. The Northshore Trail is a three-kilometer trail that can be accessed from Simcoe Street or Johnson’s Beach. This is a multi-use trail that runs the entire length of Barrie’s north shore of Kempenfelt Bay providing a beautiful view of the City of Barrie as you walk along all year round.

Johnson’s Beach is a popular area for swimming and picnics during the summer months. There is a small sandy shore that’s perfect for relaxing and enjoying a picnic while the kids go swimming in Kempenfelt Bay.
