The township gets its name from the cold, pure water that springs forth from an aquifer that produces some of the purest water in the world. Agricultural roots run deep in Springwater and today urban and suburban residents enjoy the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival and the Elmvale Fall Fair, as well as the weekly farmers’ market that brings the community together. Springwater Township celebrated its 25^th anniversary in 2019, remembering its amalgamation of Flos and Vespra Townships, and the villages of Elmvale, Hillsdale and Orr Lake.

Horseshoe Valley Resort

With much more to offer than just winter activities, Horseshoe Valley Resort offers year-round amenities for all ages. From skiing, to biking, wakeboarding and tree top trekking, there are numerous options. Horseshoe also features several overnight options for convenience and different events.

Elmvale Zoo

Elmvale Zoo is Simcoe County’s best opportunity to get up close to some of the most exotic birds and wildlife in North America. The zoo has over 30 acres of forests and trails winding past all sorts of habitats and sanctuaries for the animals. The park is open from mid May to the end of September.

Springwater Provincial Park

Springwater Park is an appealing day-use park that offers 12 km of hiking trails, a playing field, playground and washrooms. It’s a great place for bird watching, as well as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In close proximity to Barrie, this is a great place to escape to the outdoors.
