Wasaga Beach is home to the worlds longest freshwater beach along the shorelines of Nottawasaga Bay. This rapidly growing region also boasts an array of parks and recreational trails perfect for hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. From almost anywhere, the views are incredible – of the water, the trees, and even across the bay to the escarpment.

The Nancy Island Historic Site showcases the charred remains of the HMS Nancy, a ship that repelled three American schooners in the War of 1812. This ship was lifted from the depths of the bay in 1928, 114 years after it was sunk.

At over 14km of sandy shoreline, Wasaga Beach offers several different beach segments offering different amenities and activities. All beaches have access to parking, playgrounds and picnic areas, which are most popular during the summer months. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, shorebirds and plants.

The Wasaga Beach visitor center was officially opened in 2012 to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and highlight the natural and cultural riches of the Wasaga Beach area. The visitor center is the gateway to the Nancy Island Historic Site which features a theater, a museum and a replica of a Great Lakes lighthouse.
