Springwater Township is in the heart of Simcoe County between the City of Barrie and the Town of Wasaga Beach. This is a fast-growing region with multiple residential developments happening over the course of the next decade. Single-family homes with large lots make up the housing styles currently, but new developments currently under construction will bring in condominiums and townhomes to serve more residents. Springwater also provides easy access to the highway 400 and highways 26 and 93 making commuting North and South seamless.
Snow Valley is a rural community with tree-lined streets that showcase large, modern-designed homes with larger lots. It’s a family-oriented community with plenty of outdoor activities to do nearby providing a great place to live and start a family.
Parks and green space are not limited throughout Springwater. There are a couple of different parks within Snow Valley, Snow Valley Park, and the Snow Valley Highlands. Both parks have baseball diamonds and a playground. In addition to the Snow Valley Highlands Park there is a basketball and tennis court, and an outdoor skating rink for community use in the winter.
For those who enjoy being active and getting outdoors, Springwater has a few different trails to enjoy. The North Simcoe Rail Trail runs through Springwater from Minesing to Tiny Township. This trail is 31 kilometres long showcasing the natural beauty that Springwater offers. This trail can also be used for cycling and cross-country skiing in the winter because of its flat terrain.
The Snow Valley Ski Resort is a popular place for residents and visitors alike for some winter fun. There are various slopes for different levels of skiers and snowboarders as well as a few different snowshoeing trails and snow tubing. In the summer the Elmvale Zoo is a popular activity for families. They have many different animals to see as well as educational presentations throughout the day that discuss some of the animals they have there.
Shopping within Snow Valley and Springwater township is limited so residents must travel to the nearby City of Barrie for grocery shopping, retail, and other services. If you’re looking for some great places to dine out in Springwater, Cicco’s Ristorante in Minesing is a great place to enjoy a date night and delicious Italian food.
Snow Valley is a great community for families and those who would like to live outside the bustle of Barrie’s urban centre. It’s not far from the City of Barrie for shopping and other services, and easy for commuting.
