Summer break is fast approaching and summer camps throughout Simcoe County have already begun to fill. Your North Life has put together a guide of various summer camps happening throughout Simcoe County this summer that will provide your kids with educational experiences while having some fun.
City of Barrie
The City of Barrie is hosting a variety of half-day and full-day camps for kids this summer. These camps will be offered at different locations around the city to serve the greatest number of residents possible. There are a variety of camp options parents and kids can choose from such as sports specific to arts and crafts.
City of Orillia
The City of Orillia will also be offering full-day camps all summer long for kids and teens. Kids can register for a variety of activity-based camps that range from multisport camps to arts, and science. High school students will also have the chance to enroll in courses such as becoming a lifeguard or babysitting 101 that will help them build life skills. You can register for these through the City of Orillia website.
Blue Mountains Summer Camps
The Township of Blue Mountains is offering a couple of different camps for kids to enjoy this summer at Blue Mountains. The Mountainside Camp will teach kids about camping safety, hiking, and swimming lessons. This is a different camp offered than other townships and is a great way for kids to a variety of outdoor skills. A second camp they’re offering is the Multisport Bike & Skills camp, which is tailored to riders, but will also give the chance for kids who have never biked, or mountain biked before to experience and learn how.
Town of Wasaga Beach
The Town of Wasaga Beach will be offering a variety of camps that foster independence, and skill development, and will allow kids to create lifelong friendships. These camps will consist of a variety of activities like swimming, sports, hiking, crafts, and weekly guest speakers.
Tay Township
Tay Township will be offering full-day summer camps in multiple locations throughout the township. These camps will consist of a variety of games, sports, outdoor play, and crafts to keep children active during the summer break.
Township of Clearview
There will be a few different summer camp options offered throughout the township this summer including the Highlands Wilderness camp and Arts Camp. At the wilderness camp, kids will be learning about all things about the environment. At the art, camp kids can expect to learn the basics of acrylic and watercolor painting, silkscreen and lino printing, clay sculptures, and more!
